A Chehalis man was charged in Lewis County Superior Court Monday after police received reports of harassment, assault, and of him shooting guns in his yard and alarming neighbors.

Sean Bryan Lafourche, 40, was charged Monday with second-degree assault, domestic violence, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and harassment, domestic violence.

Lafourche is in custody in the Lewis County Jail on $100,000 bail.

According to court documents, law enforcement responded to Providence Centralia Hospital to a report that a woman had been assaulted. Doctors reportedly confirmed that the woman had numerous abrasions and a broken rib.

She reported that she and Lafourche got into an argument and that she left. He allegedly went after her, dragged her from her car and assaulted her. He also is accused of sending threatening text messages, according to court documents.

Lafourche has felony convictions — for first-degree burglary, taking a motor vehicle without permission and unlawful possession of a controlled substance — and is therefore ineligible to own firearms.

After speaking with the alleged victim, a deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a neighbor who reported Lafourche was in his yard shooting a gun.

The next morning, deputies arrested Lafourche and served a search warrant at his property. According to court documents, they seized a rifle and ammunition, and found a handgun holder and spent ammunition.
