Investigators with Lewis County’s Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested a father and son Wednesday on multiple felony charges.

Michael Neil Godsey, 29, of Chehalis, was charged Thursday with two counts of delivery of heroin, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of heroin and two counts of forgery. He was granted $20,000 bail.

Craig Allan Godsey, 61, of Chehalis, was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a building for drug purposes and possession of methamphetamine. He was granted $10,000 unsecured bail.

JNET is a partnership between the Centralia and Chehalis Police departments and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of JNET conducted two controlled buys of heroin, using a confidential informant, from Michael Godsey at the home where he and his father Craig Godsey live on Southwest 4th Avenue in Chehalis, according to court documents.

Officers obtained a warrant to search the home, and before conducting that search, arrested Michael Godsey Wednesday afternoon as he was leaving Chehalis Municipal Court on an unrelated matter.

While searching Michael Godsey’s room at the house, investigators reported finding a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, a digital scale, clean, unused baggies and smoking paraphernalia. He reportedly denied selling, using, or possessing any drugs, according to court documents.

Investigators also reported finding checks written out for more than $500 to Michael Godsey. They later learned that the checks had been forged, according to court documents.

Detectives also questioned Craig Godsey, who reportedly admitted being a methamphetamine user. While he initially denied knowing his son sold drugs, Craig Godsey later told officers he got methamphetamine from his son, according to court documents.

Both are scheduled to make their next court appearances on Feb. 18.
