Man Shoves BB Gun in Pants at Walmart

• A 32-year-old Centralia man was cited and released for third-degree theft after he allegedly tried to steal a BB gun by shoving it down the front of his pants shortly after midnight Wednesday. He told the arresting officer that he had been jumped previously and needed the BB gun “for protection.” The estimated value of the pistol was $89.

 

Teen Faces Criminal Charges for Graffiti

• A 16-year-old Centralia boy faces malicious mischief charges for tagging a building with graffiti on the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue. The graffiti was discovered Tuesday morning.

 

Custodial Assault at Green Hill School

• A 19-year-old Green Hill School inmate was referred for third-degree assault after he allegedly assaulted a staff member Tuesday afternoon.

 

Possession of Morphine and Meth

• Sarah A. Caton, 34, Winlock, was arrested and booked into jail for suspected possession of morphine and meth during a traffic stop on National Avenue at about 9 p.m. Monday.

 

Riverside Fire Authority

House Fire

• No one was injured after a small fire damaged a Centralia house Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to the 700 block of Big Hanaford Road at 8:10 p.m. to a report of a fire that started on the wood front porch of the house. The flames spread to the side of the house, up to the eaves of a roof and into an attic. About a third of the roof had to be removed in order to fully extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, it appears to have been accidental. Three adults and one child were home when the fire started, but no one was injured.

DUI and Possession of Meth

• Earl L. Crawford, 57, Vader, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence on July 2. The charges stem from a one-vehicle crash on Dec. 23 on state Route 506. Crawford was accused of driving at a high rate of speed on the wrong side of the road. Crawford crashed the car into a trees and the car caught on fire. A bystander pulled Crawford from the vehicle, and a state trooper found a suspected meth pipe in his pocket. A blood test revealed the presence of methamphetamine.

 

Delivery of Meth

• A bench warrant was issued for Josie N. Gomez, 32, Rochester, after she failed to appear for a preliminary court appearance on June 27. Gomez faces a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance after she allegedly sold methamphetamine to a police informant last March.

Felony Theft

• Tammy M. Callahan, 43, Centralia, was charged with felony first-degree theft on June 27 for allegedly using money from her ex-boyfriend’s bank account to pay her own bills while he was in prison in 2013 and 2014. Callahan is accused of stealing and estimated $13,000 from her ex-boyfriend.

 

Retail Theft

• Aonoauaalofagiaoaeieova Vagatai, 20, Hawaii, was charged with felony retail theft after Centralia police allegedly caught him shoplifting from several outlet stores on June 26.

 

Heroin Possession

• Natale E.S. Anderson, 22, a Centralia transient, was charged with possession of heroin on June 24. The charge stems from a traffic stop in Centralia in which the officer later located suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.

 

Stolen and Sold Wedding Ring

• Joshua J. Brock, 30, Doty, was charged with second-degree theft and first-degree trafficking of stolen property on June 30 after he allegedly stole his ex-girlfriend’s wedding ring from her previous husband. Brock then allegedly pawned the ring in February.

 

Centralia Police Department

Assault

• Roxanna C. Redfield, 45, Centralia, was arrested and booked for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend during a dispute on the 1300 block of South Scheuber Road a little after

11 a.m. Tuesday.

 

Theft

• Police took a report of a stolen Xbox 360 from the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Burglaries

• Deputies took a report of a burglary on the 2300 block of Highway 603 near Winlock at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. It appears someone forced entry to a house and stole cameras, cash and jewelry.

• A burglary of a storage facility on the 400 block of Shanklin Road in Onalaska was reported Wednesday. The burglary occurred sometime in the past month. A bow, a laptop, subwoofers, a weed cutter, binoculars and an amplifier were reportedly stolen.

 

Harassment

• Steven C. Richart, 54, Morton, was arrested and booked into jail for suspicion of harassment on the 700 block of Davis Lake Road in Morton after he allegedly threatened a 59-year-old Morton man and used racial slurs against him on Tuesday.

 

Hit and Run

• A 21-year-old Toledo man is under investigation for hit and run after deputies responded to a collision at about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday near Spencer Road and Brim Road at a primitive campground. His ex-girlfriend told police that he was driving drunk and struck her vehicle and drove away.

 

Stolen and Wrecked Truck

• A 1996 Ford F350 pickup truck was reportedly stolen from the 100 block of Gershick Road in Silver Creek between 6 and 10 a.m Tuesday. A few hours later, it was located about three miles up the 2000 line off of Salmon Creek Road near Mossyrock. The truck crashed and was a total loss. The investigation in ongoing.

 

Missed Stop Sign Leads to Wreck

• A 66-year-old Winlock man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash on the 4300 block of Jackson Highway South near Prairie Road in Chehalis. His 1999 Chevrolet truck collided with a 2006 Kia Sedona. The 52-year-old Chehalis woman driving the Kia Sedona and her 9-year-old female passenger were not injured.

 

Pot Violation

• Andrew P. Gastfield, 18, Centralia, was cited and released for allegedly smoking marijuana in public at Washington Park at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday.

 

Theft

• Several items were reportedly taken from a store on the 1200 block of Lum Road sometime over the weekend. The theft was reported at 11:37 a.m. Wednesday. The case is still under investigation.

 

Protection Order Violation

• Jennifer L. Blair, 25, Napavine, was arrested and booked for allegedly violating a protection order at 12:57 p.m. Wednesday on the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue.

 

Burglary

• A burglary was reported at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on the 900 block of North Pearl Street where someone stole miscellaneous items after breaking out a window.

 

Crash

• A vehicle crashed into a parked car on the 100 block of Harrison Avenue at 7:09 a.m. Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
