Sirens: One Man, Four Minutes, Two Arrests; Fight Over Gerbil is More Than Verbal; Malicious Mischief

Vehicle Prowl

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 800 block of West First Street in Centralia at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday. A stereo faceplate and other small items were taken.  

One Man, Four Minutes, Two Arrests

• Adam T. Kay, 31, transient, was arrested and released on suspicion of theft in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard at 2:01 p.m. Tuesday. An officer discovered stolen credit cards in his pocket that had been taken from a locker room, along with a cell phone. Just four minutes later, at 2:05 p.m., Kay was arrested once again on suspicion of assault after a dispute between him and a store clerk, which resulted in the clerk being shoved.

Fight Over Gerbil Is More Than Verbal

• Jason R. Ferris, 29, of Centralia, was arrested and booked on suspicion of third-degree assault for allegedly choking a family member during an argument at the Bank of America in the 100 block of Pearl Street at 11:48 Tuesday morning. The argument apparently was over a purchase of a gerbil.

Stolen Dog

• A dog was reported stolen from the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday.

Assault

• Sarah M. Culp, 33, transient, was issued a summons for two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of criminal trespassing after an incident in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue at 2:49 Tuesday afternoon.

DUI

• Benjamin M. Hoffman, 35, Centralia, was arrested and booked after being stopped on suspicion of DUI in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 7:23 Tuesday evening.

Malicious Mischief

• A vehicle was reported to be damaged in the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday. A suspect has been identified, and police are still investigating the case.
