Yakima police are investigating two convenience-store robberies that occurred over the weekend, including one at a store that had been previously robbed twice.

Super Foods, 316 S. Third St., was robbed around 9:35 p.m. Friday, according to Yakima police Lt. Mike Pollard. It was the third time the store had been robbed this month. Pollard said Friday’s robbery may be the work of the same person.

On Sunday night, a man described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 350 pounds went to The Apple Bin convenience store, 3707 W. Nob Hill Blvd., pointed a gun at the store clerk, demanded money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Pollard said.

In both cases, the robbers were covered, and employees could not get a look at their faces, Pollard said.

Sunday’s robbery brings the total number of businesses robbed in the city to eight this month.
