WSU Extension Lewis County Master Gardeners offer two June workshops

The WSU Extension Lewis County Master Gardeners invite the community to two workshops this month, perfect for those who love gardening, wildlife or a fun creative project, according to a news release from the Master Gardeners.

Both classes start at 10 a.m.

• On June 21, the gardeners will hold a “Concrete Leaf-Making Class” at the Salkum Timberland Library. The hands-on workshop offers step-by-step instruction on creating concrete leaf castings, which the release stated are perfect as decorative elements or birdbaths. No experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.

• On June 28, the gardeners will hold a “PNW Butterflies Class” at the Providence Place Demonstration Garden. Attendees will learn how to identify local species, understand their habitats, and attract them to gardens using native plants. The class includes a visit to a certified monarch habitat.

Both workshops are free and led by Master Gardeners who are eager to share their experience and passion, the release stated.

Pre-registration is encouraged three to four days before each class to ensure materials are available. To reserve a spot, call 360-740-1212 or email julie.pirtle@lewiscountywa.gov from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
