Tarryn Bresolin, 50, and Heather A. Temaj, 42, both of Hoquiam, were charged in Lewis County Superior Court Monday with one count of second-degree organized retail theft, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
Bresolin and Temaj were arrested after they allegedly stole about $824 worth of items from the WinCo store in Centralia on Sept. 6.
According to court documents, a Centralia police officer responded to the incident that afternoon and spoke with a loss prevention employee, who described the theft.
At one point, the suspects, who were shopping together, swapped their carts. One woman then purchased the items from her cart, while the other exited without paying for the items in the other cart.
The store manager confronted the two women at their vehicle as they were loading items from their carts. The manager reportedly took one of the carts away from the suspects, and was able to obtain license plate information and a picture of the women before they drove away.
After putting the vehicle’s information into a law enforcement database, the officer spoke with a sergeant at the Aberdeen Police Department, who recognized the suspects as Bresolin and Temaj. The suspects reportedly resided at the same address the vehicle was registered to.
The women were located and arrested.
According to court documents, Bresolin's criminal history is limited, but included two active warrants at the time of her arrest. Temaj had five active warrants at the time of her arrest.
Bresolin’s bail was set at $5,000 unsecured on the condition that she clear her active warrants within 14 days.
Temaj’s bail, meanwhile, was set at $5,000 cash or bond, given her five active warrants which, as determined by the judge, elevated her risk of failing to appear at future court proceedings.
Temaj has had over 25 past misdemeanor warrants issued, according to court documents.
Both are scheduled to appear for an arraignment on Sept. 18. Contact between the defendants is allowed provided they don’t discuss the case. The two are considered next-door neighbors.
