Jennifer L. Barber, 49, of Tacoma, was charged Wednesday in Lewis County Superior Court with one count of first-degree criminal impersonation, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to court documents, on Aug. 27, a woman was stopped by police for a vehicle infraction. The woman allegedly identified under a false name, before Centralia police correctly identified her as Barber.

Police reportedly determined that Barber had an active warrant for her arrest. She was booked into jail.

According to court documents, Barber’s criminal history includes warrants, bail jumping convictions, witness tampering, burglary, felony harassment, assault, and possession of a stolen vehicle, among other offenses.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash or bond during a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Sept. 3. An arraignment was scheduled for Sept. 4, with Chris Baum assigned to represent Barber.
