A 33-year-old Ferndale woman was hospitalized after running into traffic on Interstate 5 in Lewis County on Thursday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Zerrah L. Buell reportedly entered the northbound lanes of I-5 at mile marker 59 just after 9 a.m. She was struck by a 2017 Lexus RX driven by Kathleen M. Meehan, 69, of Olympia.
Buell was transported to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment. Meehan was not injured.
The state patrol listed the cause of the crash as a pedestrian in the roadway and noted that is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
