A woman died after falling into an Oregon coast sea cave.
Oregon State Police spokesperson Jolene Kelley said the incident was investigated as a suicide.
Around noon Wednesday, Depoe Bay Fire District responders were called to Devils Punchbowl State Park to rescue the woman who had fallen onto the rocks inside the cave, officials said.
Firefighters rappelled into the cave to help the woman before she was lifted out of the punchbowl by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter and taken to a trauma hospital in the Willamette Valley.
The victim died from her injuries after arriving at the hospital, according to the fire district.
