The weather wasn’t great for golf on Wednesday at Riverside, but the Black Hills girls golf team was able to come away with an 83-39 win over Centralia.
Ellie Johnson scored 32 points in the modified Stableford scoring system, while Megan Dolby added 16 and Melody Hackworth scored 14. Nat Buchanan added 13 points, and Lila Ariss scored eight.
Tess McMurry led the Tigers with 12, while Lyla Aumiller scored nine and Corin Meek scored eight. Freshman Lily Lennox stepped in for a sick player and scored six.
“She showed some good potential,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said.
Melissa Baine rounded out the Tigers’ scoring with four.
“We’ll score much better as we get going again,” Gronseth said. “We’re still really just getting back into golf, and I look forward to next week … We’ll get out and play more golf, and be much improved here in the next couple of weeks.”
Centralia will be back at Riverside to face Aberdeen on Tuesday, and then the Tigers will head to Newuakum Valley to face W.F. West on Wednesday.
