The Black Hills girls basketball team won its sixth-straight on Friday, as the Wolves topped Shelton on the road 48-35.

The Wolves (13-2, 6-1 2A EvCo) held the Highclimbers to just three points in the first quarter, and they took a 13-point lead into the break.

While Shelton played better in the second half, the first-half cushion was enough for Black Hills to come away with the win.

Tyler Venable was perfect from beyond the arc, hitting all five of her three-point attempts en route to a team-high 23 points.

Kylie McMahon tallied 12, Carmen Williams and Ashley Harris added six each. Natalie Buchanan rounded out the scoring with one point, and she led the team with nine rebounds.

The Wolves are sitting at second place in the 2A EvCo standings, and they’ll get another crack at unbeaten first-place W.F. West on Tuesday.
