Wolves Get in Win Column

The Black Hills baseball team earned its first win of the season Saturday, opening its doubleheader at Wheeler Field with a 13-0 win over Centralia in five innings.

Alec Lunch allowed one hit and four walks in four shutout innings, and Bradden Larue got the job done in the fifth to seal it.

The Wolves took a 3-0 lead right off the bat in the first inning on a two-out rally, with Blake Klinger driving one run in, Braiden Bond scoring on a wild pitch, and Willy Kytta knocking a third in.

That’s how things stood for two more innings, before the Wolves added six runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth.

Klinger went 3 for 4 with four RBIs, and Kytta, Xander Shepler, and Mark Otto all had two-hit days.

Brady Sprague took the loss for Centralia, allowing nine runs in three innings. He only gave up five hits but walked eight.

Centralia came back to beat the Wolves 16-3 in the second game of the doubleheader; no stats were provided.

The Tigers will face Rochester on Tuesday at home, while Black Hills will go to Shelton
