The Winlock baseball team’s season came to a close on Saturday in Ilwaco, where the Cardinals lost 16-0 against Toutle Lake in the first round of the 2B District 4 Tournament.
The Ducks took control immediately, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the first before adding seven across the third and fourth.
Stryker Armitage and Carter Svenson tallied Winlock’s two hits.
Winlock ends its season 5-16 with its first postseason win (a win over North Beach in the district pigtail) since 1991. The Cardinals have no seniors, so everyone is expected back next spring.
