A Winlock woman was hospitalized Sunday following a two-car collision on Interstate 5 near Napavine, according to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) press memo.

Angela Webb, 59, of Yuma, Arizona, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound at milepost 70 shortly after 3:05 p.m. when she failed to slow for traffic.

Webb’s Accord struck a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by Debra L. Larsen, 62, of Winlock.

According to WSP, the Sentra came to rest against the barrier. Both cars were totaled.

Larsen was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Webb was uninjured in the collision.

Both women were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

WSP listed the cause of the collision as “following too close” and reported that no drugs or alcohol had been involved in the incident.

Troopers issued citations to both Webb and Larsen, according to the press memo.
