Winlock routs North Beach for non-league victory

Winlock picked up a non-league win in North Beach on Friday, when the Cardinals ran away with a 16-1 run-rule victory over the Hyaks.

After a scoreless first, Winlock took the lead with a three-run second before adding five in the third and seven in the fourth to blow it open. The Cardinals capped their night offensively with another run in the fifth.

Kyrin Meehan went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and six runs batted in, while Liam Groves added two hits and five RBIs of his own.

Stryker Armitage also notched two hits, while Ethan Miller and Tucker St. Paul pitched in a hit and an RBI apiece.

Meehan pitched all five innings, allowing just two hits and one run while walking three and striking out nine. After allowing a leadoff single, he didn’t allow another hit until the final frame.

Winlock (6-9, 5-9 C2BL) will host Oakville on Monday for another non-league matchup.
