Winlock Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Rollover Crash on I-5 Tuesday Night

A man was injured in a hit-and-run rollover collision on northbound Interstate 5 near Winlock on Tuesday. 

An unidentified vehicle struck a silver 2008 Chevy Impala from behind while both vehicles were in the left lane, causing the Impala to strike the left barrier and roll near mile post 66, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP). 

The Impala came to rest in the left lane on its top while the unidentified vehicle continued northbound on I-5.



WSP was dispatched to the incident at 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 13. 

The driver of the Impala, 48-year-old Winlock resident William D. Meents, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation and felony hit-and-run charges against the unidentified driver are pending, according to WSP.
