The Port of Centralia Commission approved purchase and sale agreements Wednesday to bring Wilco Farm Store and Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union to Centralia Station.
The agreement with Wilco Farmers is for a 4-acre lot for the price of $2,352,240 in the port’s Centralia Station development for the construction of an agricultural supply retail store. The project is expected to bring 50 new jobs to the community, according to the port.
Founded in 1967, Wilco Farmers is a farmer- and rancher-owned cooperative with 2,500 members. The company, based in Mt. Angel, Oregon, has 26 retail stores in Washington, Oregon and California. The stores feature pet supplies and grooming, workwear, True Value hardware, Benjamin Moore paint, lawn and garden supplies, a nursery-style garden center, and livestock and equine supplies. The site plan for the future Wilco store includes a full nursery center.
Wilco is also a large supporter of Future Farmers of America, raising $250,000 for local FFA chapters and donating $125,000 to junior livestock auctions per year through its FFA Forever program. Wilco spent $1,783.47 in the Southwest Washington Fair Junior Livestock Auction this past summer.
Centralia Station is a mixed-use development featuring anchor tenant WinCo Foods, a regional grocery chain that opened its doors in 2025. Other tenants coming to the development are Chipotle and Chick-fil-A, with more announcements expected in the near future.
“The port is pleased to welcome Wilco Farms to Centralia Station,” Port of Centralia Commissioner Julie Shaffley said in a news release. “This project not only brings new jobs and investment to our community, but also strengthens our connection to the region’s agricultural heritage. Wilco’s commitment to supporting farmers, ranchers and future generations through programs like FFA aligns perfectly with the port’s mission to foster sustainable economic growth and serve our community.”
Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union, based in Aberdeen, will be located in a 30,000-square-foot property purchased for $22.99 per square foot for an approximate total of $693,000. The property, commonly referred to as Pad 8, will front the new Yew Street extension.
“Credit unions are an important part of our economy and lots of good banking jobs,” Commissioner Kyle Markstrom said during Wednesday’s meeting. “That price of $22 per square foot is a very good price, and it shows the hard work that’s gone into this project to make it so marketable.”
