The W.F. West boys basketball team’s season came to an end on Saturday in Issaquah, as the Bearcats fell 70-63 to Sammamish in a loser-out Regional matchup.
The Bearcats (16-7) struggled to slow down the RedHawks throughout, as Sammamish scored 15 or more points in all four quarters.
W.F. West was able to keep up offensively for the most part, including late surges in both halves, but it wasn’t enough in the end.
Tyler Klatush scored 22 points, while Gage Brumfield added 11. Lucas Hoff tallied 10 points, and Parker Eiswald and Grady Westlund logged eight each. Westlund also hauled in 18 rebounds.
Keith Kariuki and Anthony Boddie did most of the heavy lifting for Sammamish, combining for 39 points. Boddie hit six threes, and Kariuki scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to help put the game away.
The Bearcats finish the season 16-7 2A EvCo champions, and they are set to graduate six seniors: Eiswald, Klatush, Hoff, Dylan Rockey, Trenton Schoepf, and Braden Jones.
