In a dominant showing early in the season, the W.F. West boys wrestling team defeated Shelton Thursday by a team score of 59-13.
Eight Bearcats pinned their opponents, including Blake Ely (152), Hayden Sciera (160), Kage Homan (170), Andrew Penland (220), Daniel Matagi (285), Mason McGregor (106), Damian Hernandez (120), and Rafel Mendez (126).
Tucker Land (182), Lewis Allen (113), Drew Schirman (138), and Cristo Parriott (145) all won by decision for W.F. West as well. The lone winners for Shelton were Tyler Fleshman (132), who won by decision, and Mario Boxley (195), who won by pin.
