W.F. West claims tie-breaking win over Tumwater

Despite both the Bearcats and Thunderbirds winning three matches each, the former won more games than the latter, 60-54 and that sealed a victory for W.F. West on Wednesday afternoon in Chehalis.

“First and second doubles have been super consistent, pleased and excited for them,” Bearcats head coach Megan Wellander said. “Really proud of the first and third singles, they really battled back and got us those games that helped us win.”

W.F. West returned to the court on Thursday, hitting the road to face Shelton.

Singles

First: Kendall Gjurasic (TUM) beat Viviana Ibanez (WFW) 7-5, 6-4

Second: Emma Hamilton (WFW) beat Chloe Henderson (TUM) 6-4, 6-2



Third: Claire Buono (TUM) beat Alayna Leal (WFW) 7-6 (9-7), 6-4

Doubles

First: Katelyn Wood/Lilly Hueffed beat Adela Schmiedeberg/Kayla Pope (TUM) 6-4, 6-2

Second: Ema Weerasinghe/Ellie Mittge beat Rosie Uhlmeyer/Ashlyn Spencer (TUM) 6-1, 6-3

Third: Sarah Kim/Elle Shoemaker (TUM) beat Emery Dalrymple/Aubrey Prigmore (WFW) 6-4, 6-1
