W.F. West found itself down two at halftime against Battle Ground on Friday, but the Bearcats clawed their way back and earned a 3-3 draw with the Tigers.
“Really happy with our effort as a team in the second half,” W.F. West coach Allen Anderson said.
Battle Ground got on the board in the 25th minute, and the Tigers doubled their advantage in the 36th minute.
Hudson Newman scored off an assist from Gage Grisham in the 50th minute to get W.F. West on the board, but the Tigers responded just three minutes later to make it 3-1.
Riley Carter got the Bearcats back within one with a goal off of a throw-in from Fox Rogerson, and in the 76th minute, Newman buried home a rebound after the Battle Ground keeper saved a shot from Alex Mathuzima.
It was a welcome result for W.F. West (4-4-1, 1-2 2A EvCo), which had lost its previous two games by four and five goals, respectively.
The Bearcats will return to action after the break on Tuesday, April 14 at home against Black Hills.
