Police arrested a 48-year-old Edmonds man for investigation of assaulting two women who work at a massage business Sunday evening.

Edmonds officers responded to the reported attack in the 9700 block of Edmonds Way around 5:45 p.m., police wrote on social media. When they arrived, officers found both women unconscious, according to the report.

Witnesses pointed officers in the direction of a man who fled the business on foot. He was taken into custody nearby without further incident, police said.

The man acknowledged his involvement in the violence when talking to officers, but police said his motive remains unclear.

One of the injured employees was transported to Swedish Edmonds hospital, while the other was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, police said. No further details were available about the women.

A spokesperson for the Edmonds Police Department on Sunday declined to answer questions about whether police believe weapons were involved or what might have led to the alleged assault.

Police are asking anyone who might have information about the incident to contact them at 425-407-3999.
