Down double digits after the opening eight minutes, the Rochester High School boys basketball team couldn’t dwindle the margin and eventually dropped a 74-47 verdict to King’s Way Christian on Wednesday night in Vancouver.
Isaac Derrick led the scoring department for the Warriors with 11 points while freshman Tyson Canales added 10 points for the second time in as many games. After being held to 15 points in the first half, Rochester (0-2) more than doubled that in the final two quarters.
Up next for the Warriors is their third road game of the season, taking on former league rival Shelton on Friday.
“Still trying to learn how to play through pressure. We’ll keep getting better,” Rochester assistant head coach Kyle Ratkie said. “Saw some good moments, hopefully they become more often.”
