The Rochester girls soccer team was blanked in its district opener on Tuesday, as the Warriors lost to Seton Catholic 6-0 in a 1A District 4 quarterfinal.
Shaylie Haij opened the scoring in just the second minute, and she added goals in the 24th, 48th, and 59th minutes.
Jasmine Carney scored in back-to-back minutes late in the second half to make it 6-0.
“I am proud of the way that we played,” Rochester coach Matt Ashton said. “But we now see what it will take to advance in this tournament.”
Rochester will have to win two straight to get to the state tournament, starting with a game in La Center, which lost to Montesano in its quarterfinal.
