The Rochester football team came away with a dominant win on its homecoming night on Friday, dominating Elma in a 62-8 victory.

“The kids played outstanding on both sides of the ball,” Rochester coach AJ Easley said. “They played with a ton of confidence.”

The three main backs led the way again offensively. Maddox Rodgers tallied 156 yards on seven carries, Xander Peterman had 147 yards on six carries, and Ethan Rodriguez logged 129 yards on 10 carries. All three backs scored two touchdowns.

“All three backs ran extremely well and blocked for each other,” Easley said. “It was really good to see, and the offensive line was on point.”

Brody Easley also got into the end zone for his first varsity touchdown.

As a team, the Warriors finished with 479 rushing yards and 519 total yards.

Easley also gave credit to his defense, specifically defensive coordinator Patrick Robbins, who “has the defense playing really well right now.”

“They are playing fast and tackling really well,” Easley said.

Rochester (4-1, 1-0 1A Evergreen) will head north to face King’s in a non-league game next Friday, Oct. 10.
