The Rochester boys golf team picked up its first win of the season on Thursday, topping Tenino 193-229 at Riverside in the two teams’ first matchup of the year.
Clayton Knutson, Boden Grimm, and Wesley Dahl all finished as the co-match medalists by shooting a 48 each, while Cash Edminster and Darin Ware both shot a 49.
“It really felt like a lot of the stuff we've been working on all season finally came together tonight,” Rochester coach Brian Keese said. “I think it's awesome to see how our guys are rising to the occasion as the season ends and we get ready for tournament play.”
Tenino was led by Gavin Derrick, who shot a 50, and Gage Hart, who logged a 54. Gage Robinson shot a 60, Lucas Summers posted a 65, and Chase Stiltner added a 67.
The Warriors and Beavers will meet again on Monday at Tumwater Valley to wrap up the regular season.
