Lewis County Superior Court has issued a $10,000 bench warrant for a Centralia man accused of assaulting his parents on Jan. 9.

Jacob Anthony Looney, 45, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for two counts of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after Looney called the police in the 1500 block of Belmont Avenue just before 11:50 a.m. on Jan. 9 to falsely report his parents had assaulted him, according to Centralia Police Department call logs.

A responding officer reportedly located Looney outside the residence before going into the residence and finding Looney’s father sitting on the floor with blood on his face, according to court documents.

When questioned, Looney’s mother reported that she had given Looney a ride to court for an unrelated case and brought him home, at which point he reportedly became angry, saying he believed his parents “had been the cause of his problems.”

Looney allegedly cornered his father in the kitchen and repeatedly punched him in the face, according to court documents.

Looney’s mother reported that she tried to stop Looney and call 911, but Looney allegedly pushed her and caused her to injure her arm on a chair, according to court documents.

Looney’s mother reported that “Looney began to go after her,” but his father “grabbed Looney and kept him away,” according to court documents.

Looney then allegedly went outside and called the police.

A responding officer noted that “Looney was wearing large rings on his hands, which caused a cut on (his father’s) head and on his left side, near his eye,” according to court documents.
The injuries have since been classified in court documents as “substantial bodily harm.”

Looney’s mother reportedly sustained significant bruising and swelling on her left arm, according to court documents.

The case was initially filed in Centralia Municipal Court, but was dismissed and filed in Lewis County Superior Court as a felony case on Jan. 14, according to court documents.

In the Superior Court case, he faces one count each of second-degree assault, domestic violence, and fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Looney was issued a summons notice for a Jan. 28 preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court, which he was not present for, prompting a judge to issue the warrant.
