Wabschall, Delmer Harry

Delmer Wabschall, an Odell, Oregon resident, died December 29, 2005 at his residence. He was 76 years of age.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Anderson's Tribute Center in Hood River Oregon. A reception coordinated by the Elks and Eagles Lodges will be held at the Elks Lodge in Hood River immediately following the memorial service.

Delmer Wabschall was born October 15, 1929 in Williston, North Dakota to Archie and Florence (Brown) Wabschall. He was raised and educated in Williston, North Dakota coming to Hood River in the early 1950's. He served in the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Alaska. Delmer worked for many years at the Tip Top Tavern and Elks Club, then Champion International Plywood Mill as a hyster operator until his retire-ment. He moved to Centralia, Washington in the mid 1980's where he owned and operated Myron's Tavern for about five years. He returned to Hood River in the early 1990's. Delmer was a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, fishing, mushroom hunting, and visiting his family and many friends.

He is survived by this wife Edith Wabschall of Hood River, Oregon; son Steven Wabschall and his wife Suzanne of Scappoose, Oregon; daughters Loree Reinhardt and her husband John of Newberg, Oregon and Kelly Wabschall of Hood River, Oregon; sisters Sybil Larson and her husband Donnie, Shirley Edmonds and Laura Oyen.

Five grandchildren, Aaron and Jamie Wab-schall, and Travis, Jerad and Zachary Reinhardt also survive. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Delmer was preceded in death by his parents, brother Archie and sister Vada.
