As residents prepare to kick off spring cleaning, the City of Chehalis and Experience Chehalis are looking for volunteers to manage four dumpster locations for the Spring Clean-up Days free trash and waste disposal scheduled for May 20 and 21, according to an Experience Chehalis news release.

Dumpsters will be provided by LeMay Inc.

Experience Chehalis Executive Director Annalee Tobey said at least 45 volunteers will be needed to work three different shifts at the four locations on both Saturday and Sunday, though volunteers are welcome to work more than one shift if interested.

Two volunteers will work each location for a shift and the three shifts each day will go from 8:30 a.m. to noon, noon to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring certain items are not dumped. Items not allowed include appliances, tires, paints, batteries and chemicals.

“We will have literature available letting folks know where they can go to dump these (prohibited) items. Once a dumpster is full, the site will close for the weekend,” Tobey said in the release.

The four dumpsters are open to City of Chehalis residents only and will be located in the Chehalis Eagles parking lot at 1993 S. Market Blvd., at Stan Hedwall Park on 1501 Rice Road, the former Cascade Elementary School parking lot at 89 SW Third St. and the Chehalis Fire Station in the 1300 block of NW State Avenue.
