Vikings sweep Eagles for eighth straight win

The Mossyrock volleyball team improved to 10-2 on Tuesday, swiftly taking care of Three Rivers Christian in a 1B Columbia Valley matchup 25-14, 25-11, 25-12.

The Vikings (9-2, 8-0 1B Columbia Valley) have now won eight straight games, with their last loss coming nearly a month ago against 2B No. 1 Adna.

Erin Cournyer dropped a double-double, collecting 13 assists and 10 kills, while Adyson Barrows was stellar from the service line, tallying seven aces.

Delaney Marshall added six assists, while Taylor Schwartz and Abbie Lovan led the defensive effort with three digs each. 

As a team, the Vikings only tallied 12 digs in the win. Kendall Cournyer recorded the only Viking block on the night.

The Vikings are comfortably atop the Columbia Valley standings, as they are two and a half games up on both Naselle and Columbia Adventist with five games left on the regular season schedule.

They’ll get the chance to increase the gap between them and Naselle on Thursday, when they’ll head west to take on the Comets.
