The Mossyrock girls basketball team couldn’t miss early on, and the Vikings rode that hot start to a 70-10 win over Columbia Adventist.

The Vikings (13-6, 9-0 1B Columbia Valley) started 4 for 4 from the field, all from beyond the arc, to kickstart a 26-0 run to open the game.

That carried over into the rest of the game, as the Vikings continued to pile on while shutting down the Kodiaks on the other end.

Abbie Lovan finished with 20 points to lead the way, while Kendall Cournyer added 12. Renzy Marshall led the Vikings on the board with six rebounds and logged four points, while Taylor Schwartz led the way defensively with five steals and scored three points.

Moorcroft commended Lovan and Areonna France, the two Viking seniors, noting that their growth over their time at Mossyrock has helped shape the program into what it is today.

“These two are outstanding individuals and have put in time to get better every year,” Moorcroft said. “We are really going to miss these two. They have definitely helped shape Mossyrock Girls basketball into the program it is today by showing the underclassmen how we do things here at Mossyrock.”

The Vikings will wrap up their regular season on Thursday against Willapa Valley.
