The second quarter was a forgettable one for Mossyrock on Tuesday against Onalaska, but the Vikings bounced back in the second half and came away with a 47-39 win.
The Vikings outscored 10-2 in the second quarter and trailed by nine at the break, but they outscored the Loggers 35-18 in the second half.
“It was a good team win for us,” Mossyrock coach Nick Rashoff said. “I challenged them at halftime about mental toughness and controlling what they can control. I was super happy with how we came out and responded.”
Mossyrock saved its best defensive frame for the fourth, as it allowed just two field goals and seven points in the final frame.
Adyson Barrows led the Vikings with 17 points, while Kendall Cournyer added 12 and Maci Rashoff scored nine. Chesney Schultz added six on her senior night, and Taylor Schwartz rounded out the scoresheet with three.
Emalie Jacoby led Onalaska with 18, while Kaiyah Sandridge scored 11 and Leah Hamilton tallied five. Delaney Marshall and Kiley Talley combined for five more.
The Vikings (9-9, 4-4 C2BL) will enter the District 4 Tournament as the C2BL’s No. 4 seed, and the Loggers (14-6, 3-5 C2BL) will be the No. 6 seed. The two teams will meet again in the first round of the tournament on Saturday.
