Lewis County Public Health and Social Services will host a free Veterans Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Bob Lyle Community Center, located at 700 Main Ave. in Morton.

The event is open to all veterans and their families. It will bring together local organizations connecting veterans with valuable resources, benefits and support services, according to a news release from Lewis County. Attendees can meet directly with service providers, ask questions and learn about available programs.

Participating organizations include Coastal Community Action Program, Destination Hope and Recovery, Cascade Community Healthcare, Legacy of Valor and other community partners. Representatives will be available throughout the event to provide information and guidance on available assistance, including housing resources, healthcare benefits, behavioral health services and other community support programs.

Lewis County Veterans Benefits Specialist George Dodd will give a presentation at 12:30 p.m. covering VA medical benefits, disability compensation and dependency and indemnity Compensation, including eligibility requirements and how to access these benefits.

By bringing multiple service providers together in Morton, Lewis County Public Health & Social Services hopes to make it easier for veterans and their families, particularly those living in East Lewis County, to access important benefits, resources and support without having to travel to multiple locations, the release stated.

The event is free and no registration is required.
