United Way kids winter wear clothing drive underway in Lewis County

Organized by Women United of the United Way of Lewis County, the fourth annual “Coats for Kids” winter wear clothing drive is underway through the end of November, according to a news release from Women United. 

“​​Due to the feedback we have received from Lewis County school districts, we are expanding our ask,” Chastity Pennington, of Women United, said in the news release. 

The drive, which started Oct. 16, will end on Nov. 30. Those interested in donating are asked to drop off new coats, hoodies, sweatshirts, gloves, beanies or socks at one of 15 different donation locations throughout Lewis County. 

Those 15 locations include: 

• iBean Espresso in Centralia College’s TransAlta Commons, located along West Pear Street between South Washington Avenue and South Oak Street. 

• Cardinal FG Company, located at 545 W. Avery Road in Winlock. 

• Cascade Hardwood, located at 158 Ribelin Road in Chehalis. 

• Dawn’s Delectables, located at 204 N. Tower Ave. in Centralia. 

• Edward Jones — Vanessa Horning, located at 1290 Rush Road suite A in Napavine. 

• Rivers Coffeehouse and Bistro, located at 212 Main Ave. in Morton. 

• Joy’s Once Upon a Thyme, located at 1090 NW State Ave. in Chehalis. 

• Lewis County Coffee Company headquarters, located at 2015 Jackson Highway in Chehalis. 



• Lewis County Coffee Company, The Station, located at 120 S. Tower Ave. in Centralia. 

• Lewis County Coffee Company, Providence Centralia Hospital, located in the emergency room waiting  area on 914 S. Scheuber Road in Centralia. 

• Napavine Family Chiropractic, located at 355 Linhart Ave. NE in Napavine. 

• Centerville Cafe, located at 111 N. Tower Ave. in Centralia. 

• Umpqua Bank, located at 401 N. Market Blvd. in Chehalis. 

• Taqueria Lolita, located at 337 NW Chehalis Ave. in Chehalis. 

• United Way of Lewis County, located at 450 NW Pacific Ave. in Chehalis. 

Anyone donating directly to the United Way of Lewis County is asked to call ahead first at 360-748-8100. 

All donations go to help support underprivileged children within Lewis County school districts, according to the release. Clothes for kids ranging from preschool to high school will be accepted, and monetary donations are welcome. 

“You can help keep Lewis County kids warm this winter,” Pennington said in the release.

Women United is committed to positively impacting the lives of women and children living in poverty in Lewis County, according to the release.
