Firefighters responded Friday night to a report of a vehicle on fire.

At 7:30 p.m. on Friday, the Riverside Fire Authority responded to the 2300 block of Sirkka Street and found a 1995 Ford Explorer on fire.

The vehicle was not in working condition, and the fire originated near the rear-end of the SUV, according to the RFA. A second vehicle, parked near the Explorer, was damaged by heat from the fire.

The home’s occupant was working on the car earlier in the day, according to the RFA. Firefighters suspect that a short in a shop vacuum could have sparked the fire.

The SUV was a total loss. The incident is under investigation.
