The fire department believes the fires may be related and is working with the Gresham Police Department on the investigation. No suspects have been identified, officials said.

Gresham Fire and Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a fire alarm around 5 a.m. at the East Portland Moose Lodge. Fire crews noticed two broken windows at the front of the building where the fire was actively burning.

The crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

About four hours later, firefighters responded to a fire at a church across from the East Portland Moose Lodge. As with the previous blaze, fire crews noticed two broken windows near where the fire was burning.
