Two Lewis County Jail inmates who allegedly had cannabis and fentanyl in their possession on Sunday, Oct. 13, are facing felony charges.
Brandon Falter, 33, is accused of having a baggie containing a substance that tested positive for fentanyl. He also allegedly had drug paraphernalia, including “a rubber condom that smelled of fecal matter, a match head, striking components and some wadded up paper,” according to charging documents filed in Lewis County Superior Court on Monday, Oct. 14.
Bobby Thompson, 50, is accused of hiding two baggies of cannabis and paper in his sock.
Thompson was initially booked into the Lewis County Jail on unrelated charges on Sept. 29, according to jail records. Falter was initially booked on unrelated charges on Oct. 7.
Both inmates were residing in the same cell block when corrections deputies located the drugs on Oct. 13, according to court documents.
They each face one count of possession of a controlled substance while in a county or local corrections facility.
The charge is a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
Bail is set at $20,000 each. Arraignment hearings are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17.
