Two incarcerated individuals at the Green Hill School juvenile detention center in Chehalis face allegations of custodial assault following separate alleged incidents.

Bishop S. Slaughter, 20, is charged with one count each of felony harassment and custodial assault, both punishable by up to five years in prison.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Slaughter, after refusing to go to his room, allegedly “threatened to kill a staff member” and then threw a computer monitor at staff.

The damage to the monitor reportedly disrupted the staff’s ability to open and lock cell doors.

According to prosecutors, Slaughter allegedly climbed onto a counter and struck a staff member during the April incident.

Slaughter appeared via video from Green Hill School Wednesday for his preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court.

The defendant said his anticipated release date from the facility is June 18.

Judge J. Andrew Toynbee, citing some concern with Slaughter’s warrant history, set the defendant’s bail at $10,000 cash or bond to secure his future appearance in court.

Slaughter was scheduled for an arraignment on June 4.

Elijah D. Luurs, 18, is charged with one count of custodial assault, punishable by up to five years in prison.

Luurs, who also appeared in court via video Wednesday, was released on his own recognizance back to the Green Hill School.

Luurs said his current anticipated release date from the facility is in 2028.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Luurs allegedly struck an employee at the facility “repeatedly” in April after being allowed into the employee’s office.

Luurs was ultimately “taken to the ground and removed from the area,” the affidavit said.

Luurs was scheduled for an arraignment on June 4.
