The Twin City Wrestling Club impressed at the Washington State Wrestling Association Rainier Rumble on Sunday, finishing in third place as a team.
Team Aggression won the event with 253 points, while Mat Demons finished second at 225. The Mat Cats finished with 221.5, 10 points ahead of Mat Rats Rebooted, which placed fourth.
This week, the Mat Cats were led by Chase Phillips, who scored 25 points, while Jeffrey Landon scored 24 and both Luke Vizgaudis and Camden Maine tallied 23.5 apiece.
Leon Huang added 22, Finn Ankeny logged 21.5, Emberly Sharp added 21, Hunter Rice and Kaiden Coates both tallied 20.5, and Eziya Gomez scored 20.
Brock Blankenship finished with the most tech-falls in the least amount of time, collecting three in a combined time of just 4:52. Huang had the fastest tech of the day, winning one match via tech in just 54 seconds.
As a team, Twin City finished with the most pins (50) and most techs (18), leaving them with a combined 68, which was also the highest mark.
Four Mat Cats won gold: Emberly Sharp (Girls K-2nd 50.9-51.2), Eziya Gomez (Girls K-2nd 55-58.3), Brodey McBee (U12 160+), Kaiden Coates (U14 140-143).
Fifteen placed second: Sawyer Wade (U6 37.8-39.8), Landen Hill (U6 45.3-47.1), Khai Davis (U8 43), Leon Huang (U8 45), Leon Huang (U8 49), Jeffrey Landon (U8 53), Chase Phillips (U8 62), Finn Ankeny (U8 70), Tate Siler (U8 85), Mike Martin (U10 49), Luke Vizgaudis (U10 59), Camden Maine (U10 84), Zayvynn Sanders (U12 58), Grayson Day (U14 84), Zoie Cortes (U16 215-240).
And five placed third: Mike Martin (U8 49), Thorin Goebel (U8 53), Jaxson Brown (U10 77), Brock Blankenship (U10 105), Hunter Rice (U12 98).
