Twin City Wrestling Club finish second at Battle in the Woods

The Twin City Wrestling Club took second place at the Battle in the Woods in Eatonville on Sunday, scoring 235 points as a team.

Team Aggression took first with 261, and the Mat Cats finished three and a half points ahead of Mat Rats Rebooted, who took third.

Chase Phillips scored 31 team points to lead Twin City, while Kash Davis scored 29 and Brock Blankenship added 16. Landen Hill tallied 24, Luke Vizgaudis collected 22, Jeffrey Landon and Finn Ankeny both chipped in 21.5, and Leon Huang, Kaiden Coates, and Alyxandrea Jarvis each scored 20.

Twin City had the most pins as a team with 61, and they had the most combined pins and techs with 73.



Eight Mat Cats brought home first-place medals: Landen Hill (U6 42.9-44.4), Emberly Sharp (Girls K-2nd 50.4-53), Layla Simonds (Girls K-2nd 98.6), Chase Phillips (U8 62), Finn Ankeny (U8 85), Brock Blankenship (U10 105), Kash Davis (U12 70 and U12 74).

Ten more finished second: Isabella Nelson (Girls K-2nd 52.5-56.8), Khai Davis (U8 40-43), Bowen Driscoll (U8 45), Aiden Bensching (U10 53), Luke Vizgaudis (U10 59), Zayvynn Sanders (U12 58), Kaiden Coates (U14 140), Lula-May Hilliard (Girls 6th-8th 76-81), Alyxandrea Jarvis (Girls 6th-8th 130), Atrayewe Brown (U16 133-144.6).

And eight more took third: Hudson Hill (U6 43.2-46.6), Leon Huang (U8 49), Jeffrey Landon (U8 53), Christopher Kuberth (U8 85), Mike Martin (U10 49), Chloee Deal (Girls 3rd-5th 108.7-113.9), Camden Ochsner (U12 135), Kaed Davis (U14 105).

Next up for Twin City is the Washington State Folkstyle State Championship this Sunday at the Tacoma Dome. More than 100 Mat Cats will be wrestling.
