The Tumwater boys basketball team earned its third win in a row on Wednesday, defeating Shelton 49-24 at home.
The T-Birds were stout defensively throughout, and especially so in the first half. In the first two quarters, they allowed just seven points, and they put up 24 to take a 17-point lead into the locker room.
Shelton had more success in the second half offensively, but not by much, and Tumwater did what it needed to do to add on.
Jake Dillon paced the Thunderbirds with 17 points, while Sahara Anthony, Julian Balsley, and Luke Overbay added nine apiece. Overbay also hauled in 14 rebounds, just missing out on a double-double.
Tumwater (11-3, 5-1 2A EvCo) has now won six of its last seven games, and it will look to continue to roll in a key league matchup on Friday at W.F. West.
