Ten days after the Thunderbirds dropped their first Evergreen Conference game, they’ve rattled off five straight wins, including Monday’s second meeting with the Bearcats that finished as a 14-3, five-inning verdict.

Six runs in the bottom of the second were all two-run home runs by Ella Ferguson, Liz McCartney and Megan Barrett. Tumwater (11-2, 9-1 EvCo) added two in the third and the final six in the fifth to enact the run-rule. All seven batters in the fifth reached base and a Brielle Womach two-run double ended the game.

W.F. West (7-8, 4-6) has lost three straight. It plated all three runs in the third on a bases loaded walk and a Karlee Coleman two-run double. The Bearcats used three pitchers and allowed 15 hits, 13 earned runs to just two strikeouts.

Barrett, Ferguson and Marissa La Praim all recorded three hits for the T-Birds. McCartney drove in five runs and six batters crossed home plate multiple times. Ferguson danced around four walks to notch five strikeouts in the circle.

Tumwater takes on Centralia on Wednesday while W.F. West hosts Black Hills on Tuesday.
