The Tumwater girls basketball team couldn’t keep up with Woodland on Friday, falling 63-27 in a 2A District 4 Quarterfinal.

Woodland was in complete control the entire way, building a 15-point lead after one and building it to 22 at halftime. After outscoring the T-Birds 28-11 in the third, the Beavers led by 39 going into the final frame.

Claire Buono led Tumwater with eight points, while Kamryn Wilson and Raygen Cooper added five apiece. Dakota Cahill scored four, Maesyn Williams and Anden Demaris both tallied two, and Sydney Sumrok rounded out the Tumwater scorebook with one.

To secure a trip to state, the T-Birds will now have to win two straight elimination games, starting with a matchup against Ridgefield on Monday at Centralia High School.
