The Pe Ell volleyball team’s winning streak is up to nine, as the Trojans defeated Ocosta 25-18, 24-26, 25-10, 25-18 in a non-league matchup on Wednesday night.
“These girls really showed up to play tonight,” Pe Ell coach Jill Engel said. “We had some things to work on and I was happy to see them running things the way they practiced.”
Karli Phelps led the way with 21 assists, six digs, four aces, and two kills while not missing a serve, while Madi Engel didn’t make a single hitting error while accounting for six kills, six digs, nine serve receives, and a pair of blocks.
Maisy King added eight kills, eight digs, seven serve receives, four aces, and four blocks, and Peyton Zock collected nine kills and five blocks.
Sophia Milanowski added 12 serve receives and 10 digs, and Bailey Cox delivered seven aces.
The Trojans also had success over the weekend in Ocosta, winning the gold bracket at the Ocosta Tournament by sweeping both Naselle and Northwest Christian (Lacey).
The Trojans will look to make it 10 in a row on Monday in Menlo against Willapa Valley.
