Trojans start slow, but bounce back in win over Eagles

The Pe Ell volleyball team came out of the gates sluggish against Firm Foundation on Thursday, but the Trojans renounced nicely and came away with a 13-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 victory.

“We had a rough start with too many mistakes,” Pe Ell coach Jill Engel said. “The girls changed their mindset and ran with it. They were working hard and putting it together for some nice volleys.”

Maisy King had six kills, four digs, and three blocks, while Madi Engel went 10 for 12 on the serve receive with five digs and a block.

Sophia Milanowski went 8 for 10 with five digs and two kills, while Karli Phelps added 13 assists, four aces, two kills, two dump kills, and a dig.

Bailey Cox finished with five aces, two kills, and a block, Ruby Magruder collected four aces and a kill, and Ava King finished with two serve receives, two digs, and a kill while going perfect from the service line.

Pe Ell (3-3, 2-0 1B CVL) will return home on Monday to host Naselle.
