The Centralia College volleyball team came away with its second win of the season on Friday, snapping a six-game skid with a 3-1 victory over Green River, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21.

“It was a group effort tonight,” coach Ceanna Larson said after the game. “They did a great job capitalizing on their individual strengths and staying positive.”

Josie Shultz led the way offensively for the Trailblazers (2-16, 1-2 NWAC) with seven kills, while Morgan Rogerson, Ayzha Fuller and Kelly Casarez each added five.

“We did a good job of keeping them out of system and spacing out our hitters enough to allow for big swings,” Larson said.

Evie Rooklidge led the way defensively with 19 digs, while Ryli Gray tallied eight. Rogerson and Gray led the team with nine assists, while Rooklidge had seven.

The Trailblazers continue conference play on Wednesday, when they’ll head to Lakewood to take on Pierce College.
