Scoring in bunches from a variety of sources, the Centralia College men’s basketball team defeated Grays Harbor College on the road Wednesday night, 94-67 to open NWAC conference play in the win column.

The Trailblazers (3-12, 1-0 NWAC West) had 10 players score, with Raymond Guillory and Juelz Mendoza leading the way with 26 and 23 points, respectively.

Centralia shot 51.4% from the field and made 18 of its 25 free throws in an efficient shooting night from the floor, limiting 3-point attempts and opting instead to attack the rim. On the defensive end, the Blazers held the Chokers to just 33.3% shooting from the field and forced 33 shots from deep, and Grays Harbor made just five of them.

The Blazers also limited turnovers, giving away just nine possessions to the Chokers’ 13, and dishing out 18 assists as a team for a solid 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Centralia will hope to keep it rolling against South Puget Sound on Saturday at home at 5 p.m.
