Centralia College’s baseball season came to an end on Sunday in Bellevue, where the Trailblazers lost two of three to the Bellevue Bulldogs in the NWAC North Super Regional.
To earn the right to face Bellevue in the best-of-three series, the Trailblazers had to knock off Walla Walla, and they did so 4-2 on Friday.
Nolan Christ tallied four hits at the plate in the win, including a triple, while Sam Matosich, Isaiah Anzaldua, and Avery Staloch each drove in a run.
Lincoln McVicker pitched the first seven innings, allowing just two runs while striking out seven, and Finn Still allowed just one hit in two innings of relief.
Centralia overcame an 4-0 deficit against Bellevue in Game 1 later Friday afternoon, tying the game at four in the third, but the Bulldogs eventually walked off the Trailblazers 5-4.
With their season on the line, Still pitched a gem in Game 2. He pitched into the ninth, allowing just one run while throwing 81 of his 111 pitches for strikes.
The Trailblazers didn’t give him any support through four, but the offense exploded late. They scored 11 runs over the final five innings to force a Game 3.
That game went the other direction, though, as Bellevue took a 5-0 lead early and added six runs across the seventh and eighth to put the finishing touches on an 11-2 win that sends the Bulldogs to the NWAC Championships.
CC finishes its season 25-29.
