Thanks to a brace from sophomore Kasey Derrick, the Centralia College women’s soccer team defeated Pierce College on the road, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon.
The Trailblazers controlled possession throughout, and got off to a quick start in the win.
“We started the game really strong, the message to the players was that this was a must win to keep our playoff hopes alive,” Blazers coach Clarence Gunderson said. “Everyone did really well. We got it fast, we started the game the right way.”
Derrick scored both her goals in the first half, helping the Blazers to a victory.
The Blazers (8-5-1, 6-3-1 NWAC) take on Tacoma on the road next Wednesday.
